Strata appoints Noosa local as president

Property Peak Body Strata Community Association Qld (SCA (Qld) has announced its new leadership team, with a renewed focus on delivering for members.

SCA (Qld) general manager Laura Bos said she was extremely excited to have an energetic leadership team led by Noosa resident and Team Body Corporate owner Andrew Davidson as the new president of SCA (Qld).

“I want to start by thanking our outgoing president Chris Irons for his hard work and commitment to the sector – his passion for advocacy has seen SCA (Qld) develop this aspect of our role as the peak body for strata successfully,” Ms Bos said.

“Andrew Davidson brings extensive leadership experience to the role of president including high level corporate management ,strata management and not for profit board and governance skills.

“There is no person better suited to the role with such a diverse range of skills to guide the growth of the organisation.”

Mr Davidson said he was excited about the opportunity to lead a sector he had come to love.

“I started in strata almost a decade ago after moving to Noosa to ease into early retirement. An opportunity presented itself to acquire a strata management business and the rest is history. It has become a passion for me every day, and I am humbled and enthused to be leading this sector,” he said.

“I am keen to ensure the organisation continues to build on our past few years in elevating our membership experience, our advocacy profile and ensuring that we continue to modernise and professionalise our sector for all those who work and live in strata.”

Ms Bos said she was eager to work with Mr Davidson to continue to push for reform of the laws governing the sector.

“Andrew runs a medium-sized body corporate business and is hands on with his clients. He is uniquely attuned to the issues facing our membership and will work to help drive solutions to the problems they face in an ever-changing world,” Ms Bos said.

Mr Davidson said he was particularly focused on advocacy, education, accreditation and safe working environments for all of those that work in strata.

He will be focused on achieving a regulatory barrier to becoming a strata manager. He is particularly focused on what’s possible and embracing new technologies as enablers to creating a better world .

Ms Bos believes Mr Davidson will be a tremendous leader in the organisation and is excited for what the 40th year of SCA (Qld) will bring.

“At our core, we are an organisation founded and committed to the advancement of strata management as a profession, and there is no better person to lead us into our 40th year than a strata professional like Andrew Davidson,” Ms Bos said.
