A young man has tragically lost his life in a motorbike crash on the Sunshine Coast at 12.16am on 11 April.

Initial investigations indicate the rider of a Honda CBR 600 motorbike, travelling south, crashed on the Bruce Highway, 3km south of the Yandina exit.

The 19-year-old motorbike rider died at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or may have relevant dashcam footage, to come forward.
