Rugby U15s on path to NZ

Upcoming tour participants and parents begin fundraising for their trip.

For 15 years, Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club has organised a rite of passage rugby tour to New Zealand for their U15 rugby team.

The tour offers passionate young rugby players the opportunity to play a variety of rugby teams in New Zealand, enriching their experience of rugby. The tour also provides the team the opportunity to travel and experience a new country with their team mates.

For the vast majority of players, it is their first overseas trip without their families. Touring creates lifetime bonds. Their experiences form memories and stories that are retold throughout their senior rugby years – sometimes the stories growing more rapidly than the boys.

The U15s travel during the June/July school holidays to play against a variety of New Zealand teams and are also able to do some sightseeing along the way. The annual junior tour has become an essential part of the Dolphins community culture.

The U14s are currently fundraising towards their tour costs of more than $65,000. Each family contributes to the cost of their player to travel to New Zealand but they also contribute their valuable time and donations of prizes for our raffles.

They have just launched our Major Raffle that will raise much needed funds to purchase our travelling and playing kit with some great prizes to win, each prize is valued over $1000.
