Three days of ginger festival fun

The Ginger Factory has this morning opened their doors to kickstart three days of food, flowers and entertainment for their annual Ginger Flower and Food festival.This year marks the 24th annual event and it is set to be packed with an array of Sunshine Coast cooking and gardening experts.Chefs include local favourite Matt Golinski and new additions, Lisa Maher from Makepeace Island and Dylan Campbell – resident mixologist from Sum Yung Guys.

You will find a showcase of exquisite ornamental gingers and heliconias, as well as over 3000 plants available for purchase.There is lots to see and do at the festival, including all your usual favourites such as Ginger Town shopping, the Ice-Creamery and live bee shows.Starting today, the free, all ages event will run until Sunday January 19th
