A 3D topographical glass model of Mt Cooroora, the creation of Jason Makeig, is on display in the Blacksmith’s Shed at Pomona Railway Gallery until 24 July.
“As an inaugural showing, the sculpture has attracted a wide range of people who have been significantly overwhelmed by the unusual ‘perspective’ of not only the mountain some know well but also others from out of town who have never seen our real mountain at all,” Jason said.
“As a local glass artist for over 40 yrs primarily working in stained glass and leadlight, I’ve come some way down the path of experimenting with different aspects of glass art technology.”
The sculpture is on show at the gallery from Tuesday-Friday, 10am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday, 10am-2pm.
