Noosa mum changes eating habits one bite at a time

Noosa businesswoman, Tammy Fry, one of the women behind global plant-based food company, The Fry Family Food Co, is on a mission to bring simple and delicious plant-based recipes to every kitchen table in Australia with the launch of her new book

.Born in South Africa, a country known for its heavy meat production and consumption, Tammy grew up around animals, and it was her love for them that inspired her to live a plant-based lifestyle.

She now lives by the ethos to encourage others to embrace a meat-free diet and help ensure a world for future generations.

“Made with Love & Plants was written to encourage more people to embrace a kinder, more ethical way of eating, while showcasing the wide variety of delicious and healthy meals that can be made without using animal proteins,” Tammy said.

“You don’t have to be strictly vegan to enjoy plant-based food. The beauty of it is that it is suitable for all diets, and I know many people who have taken a kinder twist to their family favourites by switching up the meat for an equally satisfying plant-based alternative.

“It’s important to me to show Aussie families that by simply choosing to put a plant-based meal on the table that they’re helping to change the world.”

In 2019, Tammy was named as one of the top eight women who are changing the world for animals through food by Female First UK.

Not only is Tammy a pioneer of plant-based living, but she is also an accomplished athlete, plant-based nutrition expert, a self-defence coach, public speaker, and mum of two boys.

“As a mum, I know how difficult it can be to get kids to eat their vegetables, let alone a complete plant-based meal,“ Tammy said.

“Which is why nearly every product we make as part of the Fry Family Food Co range, we make for ourselves first – that way we know it’s delicious, even for kids.

“And that’s how I approached my cookbook – taste is at the heart of each recipe. I value what our bodies need to be fuelled correctly which is why sharing my knowledge and helping shape Australian families’ understanding of plant-based living is so important.”

Made with Love & Plants is jam-packed with over 75 delicious, easy-to-make recipes including gluten-free, wholefood plant-based and gut health recipes for every meal, as well as a range of edible, homemade gifts.

The book is available from Amazon, Dymocks and Booktopia.
