Organic hair salon invests in expansion to prime Noosa riverfront position

Self belief, sheer determination and an intrinsic knowledge of what local women want from their health and beauty routines, lead Noosa local, Sam Pittendrigh, Founder and Artistic Director of Si.Organics, to forge ahead with ambitious plans for expansion of her organic hair salon in 2020.

Despite going through a turbulent year last year like many small business owners in the Noosa region, Sam knew that the desire and need for premium, organic and high performing haircare that was both on trend and good for the planet, was rapidly growing within the community. Particularly so in the wake of a challenging global pandemic.

When the perfect location for expansion into bigger premises finally became available just before Christmas last year, she moved quickly to create her dream space which is now officially open on the Noosa River foreshore on Gympie Terrace.

“We are one of the few organic hair salons on the Sunshine Coast and were the first to offer colour and styling services using the truly organic, biodynamic and a naturally derived Oway product range,“ Sam said.

“We know our clients care not only about a beautiful result for their hair, but knowing the ingredients used and how it effects their health and environmental footprint, is paramount, especially in 2021.

“Although our industry faced extreme challenges last year, we’ve witnessed first hand the growing importance and willingness women are placing in investing into their own wellness and self care.

“This is why I was so motivated and confident in our decision to move forward with our expansion plans, despite the setbacks we faced, we had to create a luxurious and pampering environment that delivers both. I’m a mum of a busy one year old. I know how hard it is to try and find time for yourself, but our new space makes it easier, more convenient and enjoyable for women to prioritise themselves.”

Sam employed local contractors to bring her vision to life, Next Gen Noosa Builders, who constructed the build and engaged local manufactures Concreted Design House Australia, to create beautiful interior design and styling elements like custom concrete cabinetry and furniture.

“Supporting local businesses is so important to us and it was exciting to collaborate with such talented experts who have excelled at bringing our vision to life,“ she said.

“We’ve also just hired another award winning full time stylist and are looking for another, in addition to an apprentice to keep up with demand.”

A resilient attitude and so much hard work behind the scenes means Si. Organics can now provide services for even more locals and visitors the Noosa region.

“All the hard work and risks we took to get here, have been worth it. We are excited to see what the future holds for us and the positive impact the organic hair and beauty industry has within our community.“
