Wet weather leaves Lions Park in poor state

After an untimely heavy downpour of rain at the Noosa Food and Wine Festival on Sunday, some community members are unhappy about the poor state that the Noosa Heads Lions Park has been left in.

“It rains around the festival time every year, why not find a better venue instead of wasting lots of money recovering this park every year,” Lance Hunt wrote on the Noosa Community Facebook page.

Tourism Noosa Publicist and Events Specialists Susan Ewington said that Noosa Food and Wine is committed to working with Noosa Council to fix the damage to the grass due to the wet weather that took place over the Festival.

“Noosa Food and Wine has paid a bond to cover this and we look forward to working with Council to return the park back to its usual condition,” Susan said.
