Hang loose with the hounds

The 2023 VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships are making a big splash at Noosa Main Beach this Saturday 4 March at 3pm.

Get ready to see ten teams of super-talented pups and their human companions battle it out on the waves to take home the coveted Best Wave Award, as part of the much-loved Noosa Festival of Surfing.

Dr Mark Perissinoto, head veterinarian at VetShopAustralia, predicts that this year’s event will be the biggest yet, drawing in a crowd of dog-lovers and surf enthusiasts from far and wide.

For eleven years now, the Surfing Dog Championships have been the star attraction at the Noosa Festival of Surfing, drawing in thousands of spectators both on and off the water.

This year’s line-up features some old favourites, like three-time winners Hugsley and Jonesy as well as some new pups on the block.

Watch out for Dane, who will be shredding the waves with gorgeous Bu the Staffy or Banjo the ball- obsessed Kelpie, who will be showing off his skills with owner Chris Oakley.

And let’s not forget Poppy the Groodle, or Anna, the chocolate Border Collie who will be riding the waves with owner Zane and litle human Koa.

Bringing some infectious energy and serious excitement to this year’s VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships are newcomers Paul and his four legged partner in crime, Happy, the Australian Shepherd.

Happy is a true thrill-seeker who lives for surfing, skating, and all kinds of frothing activities. Having made their way over from W.A, get ready to cheer them on as they show off their skills and bring their A game to First Point.

“We’re proud to announce our partnership with Simparica Trio, the ultimate protection for our furry friends, in the water or out,” Dr Mark said.

“Simparica Trio’s a tasty chew that not only protects against heartworm but also gives fast-acting defence against fleas and ticks while treating intestinal worms. We know how much our active pups love to explore the beautiful Sunshine Coast, so it’s essential to keep them protected.”

Once again, VetShopAustralia has partnered with pet parasiticide Simparica Trio to promote the importance of choosing the right kind of protection for dogs living the enviable Sunshine Coast lifestyle.

And don’t forget to stop by the VetShopAustralia and Simparica Trio pop-up stand on the beach! They’ll be handing out free samples and swag for your furry friend while promoting the importance of proper protection for dogs living the dream on the Sunshine Coast.

Bring your beach towels, your sunscreen, and your best doggie paddle.

This year’s VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships are going to be off the leash.
