Set to be an even bigger challenge than previous events, the 2022 Trek For Parkinsons kicked off at Mt Ngnunun last Sunday.
The teams event can be completed anywhere in Australia, with members climbing 20,000 metres over the month of April to coincide with World Parkinsons Day on 11 April.
The Sunshine Coast community will be climbing Mt Coolum , Mt Ngnunnun, Mt Pamona and Mt Beerwah, just to name a few.
Spokesperson Gary McKitterick Gillett said, “As a teams’ event we are hoping to appeal to a wider audience and spread the word about Parkinsons Disease. Each of us will achieve about 5000m, an ideal preparation before trekking to EBC in May.
“Our efforts are to help raise funds for Shake It Up Australia Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and Parkinson’s Disease research in Australia. Our goal being to raise $10,000.”
