Golinski walks away from the View

After five successful years as advisory executive chef of View Restaurant at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas, Matt Golinski has announced he will be ending his role at the restaurant on 1 November to spend more time with his young family.

Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas general manager Scott Freund said it had been incredible to have Matt in the team.

“During this time, he shared his love of local produce and his great knowledge of the many plentiful producers from our region with our team,“ Mr Freund said.

“He developed menus that focused on fresh, seasonal and local ingredients – something the restaurant is now renowned for and we will continue to focus on.”

Matt said his time at Peppers had been “an absolute pleasure“.

“I consider so many of the people I’ve had the privilege of working with over that time as more like family than colleagues.

“Although I’ve decided it’s time for me to move on to spend more time with my young family, I have no doubt my philosophy of supporting local growers, and the relationships we have all developed with the people who supply the resort, will be my lasting legacy for many years to come,“ he said.

The View by Matt Golinksi menu, which focuses on both the best flavours and textures of local ingredients, has been delivered by third-generation local of Noosa head chef Andrew Wilcox since 2015.

Andrew will continue to guide the property’s culinary direction following Matt’s departure.

During Matt and Andrew’s time leading the restaurant, View by Matt Golinksi has received many coveted accolades, including an Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat three consecutive years (2022, 2021 and 2020), along with an Australian Good Food Guide Reader’s Choice Award for modern Australian cuisine three consecutive years (2022, 2021 and 2020).

An announcement on the restaurant’s new name will be made in the coming months.
