Noosa Waters residents were shocked and concerned when they spotted a dead body in a nearby park on Wednesday 29 March.
Sadly, a Noosa police officer at the scene confirmed an 86-year-old man who lived in the area had died on a park bench.
“An 86-year-old man who had been in good health was at a park bench near Shorehaven and Saltwater Drive,” he said.
“He always does it quite regularly as it’s only a couple of kilometres from his home. He never had any health problems and then sort of collapsed from the park bench and couldn’t be resuscitated. They tried for about an hour and they gave it a good shot but he didn’t come back.
“There’s going to be an autopsy and he didn’t have any prior heart problems but I think that may be the case (a heart attack). It was natural causes.”
