Noosa Little Aths play host to the world

Noosa Little Athletics played host to 657 athletes from 16 Little Athletics centres at the annual Suncoast Regional Little Athletics Championships, held at the Girraween Sports Complex in Sunshine Beach.
Held over two and a half days, the championships are the qualifying event for athletes in the U9 to U17 age groups aiming to compete at the McDonalds State Championships, to be held in Brisbane from 23–25 March.
A highlight of the championships is the walk of honour for U16 and U17 graduating athletes that took place on the final day of competition. Cheered on by U7 and U8 athletes, the graduating athletes were presented with certificates by visiting dignitaries, independent State Member for Noosa, Sandy Bolton MP and Noosa Counsellor Frank Pardon.
A total of 37 Noosa athletes have qualified for the State Championships in Brisbane, including five U9 athletes attending for the first time, two of whom have qualified to compete in race walk events.
