NOOSA JUNIOR PIRATES
UNDER 7 BLUE
It was a beautiful Saturday morning as the Pirates headed down the highway to Caboolture for a battle with the Snakes. It was a great game atmosphere and there was some great sportsmanship between the teams and the Under 7s put in their best defensive effort of the season so far.
Ollie was named captain for some great tackling technique at training on Thursday and he carried it through on the field with a great defensive effort and running hard up the middle. Seth continues to grow each game with and without the ball and grabbed another try for the tally.
Spence and Jacob both bagged a few tries and had some brave tackles, Axel carried the ball well and tackled hard playing against his cousin, and Lachy made some great carries and tackled hard.
But it was Conner who took home the Man of the Match honours with an amazing tackling display and some damaging runs up the middle.
UNDER 9 BLUE
Under 9 Blue boys pulled up their socks and took to the field oozing team spirit.
Tait was captain for the game and led the charge to see a try from Rhy right out of the gate pushing through the big Caboolture front line.
That only geared the team up for the try of the year from Bailey with Hayden kicking through a grubber kick about to go dead when Bailey jumped on it and scored.
Bailey was on fire also scoring the last try of the day with a dummy pass to get him over the line.
Clancy and Rhy were the stand out men out wide running the ball all day with Clancy also getting the ball over the line in the first half.
Lachie pulled on the DH shirt again with pride making sure his team-mates got the ball swiftly to set up great runs up the middle for Sam who was pivotal in the set up of Tait’s try.
Cooper – one of the Dragons’ tackling machines – was all heart tackling the big Caboolture team and after some quick stepping, chalked up another try for the year.
A big thank you to Hayden for filling in, some awesome running from you. Again, hard to pick Man of the Match each week with all players playing so well and with such team spirit and love of the Pirate shirt, but Clancy – who had a ripper of a game – takes the trophy this week.
Thanks for another great week of footy Matt we couldn’t do it without you as our coach.
