Boyd stands for council

USC lecturer and surf life saver Steven Boyd has announced his candidacy for the Noosa Council elections.
Father of four Dr Boyd says he is passionate about ensuring the Noosa experience of the bush and beach is available for generations to come, while also supporting new innovative industries and local business start-ups that will be key to sustain the famous Noosa lifestyle.
Dr Boyd said high-speed internet connectivity was an essential part of the infrastructure needed for the Noosa shire to thrive and said he would work diligently to speed up the process to bring reliable services to every business and home.
As a past director of the Noosa Biosphere, Dr Boyd said he would like to see council lead the way in encouraging children to be more engaged with the natural and social environments.
“We live in one of the most beautiful places on the planet,” Dr Boyd said.
“It is our duty to guarantee that beauty to be enjoyed for generations to come.”
Dr Boyd said as a councillor, he would work hard to sustain the Noosa way of life and to provide future opportunities for local children.
Dr Boyd, who lectures in business and project management, said he was looking forward to taking on the challenge of public service and anyone who wanted more information on his election platform could visit his website www.stevenboyd.org.au.
