Noosa local Meghan Halverson will cut her locks to help raise awareness and funds for the Noosa koala.
The president of Queensland Koala Crusaders will be cutting 70 centimetres from her waist-length hair in a bid to raise funds for a koala refuge in the Noosa region.
Queensland Koala Crusaders aim to build a koala refuge free from dogs, disease and development which have been the main contributing factors of koala deaths.
Meghan’s fundraising will help to close the gap on the group’s goal of $25,000.
Queensland Koala Crusaders is a charitable organisation that works to create awareness of the threats to the koala, to activate local koala conservation initiatives and promote education about unique fauna.
To support Meghan, head to Sunspace Cafe, 6 Beddington Road, Doonan, on Sunday 13 December.
Live music kicks off at 12.30pm with Meghan taking the Barbers seat at 2.30pm.
To contribute to this charity head to the crowdfunding page www.chuffed.org/project/koalas-need-a-christmas-too.
