Grace takes dancer places

SCARLETT O’Rielley describes her style of dancing as graceful. Natural grace, dedication and support from teachers at The Dance Centre Peregian Springs have helped her gain a place in the coveted Australian Ballet School’s Interstate Program.
Scarlett is the 7th vocational student from The Dance Centre to be invited to join the ABS Interstate Program.
Scarlett has her sights firmly set on a career in dancing and wants to travel the world. Scarlett said she chose to become a vocational student because she dreamt of being a professional dancer when she grew up.
“If this doesn’t happen then, I would love to teach dancing instead,” she said.
Scarlett has received distinctions in her Royal Academy of Dance exams every year since she began dancing at age six.
“The best thing about being a vocational student is I have improved in my dancing, made great friends, and have heaps of fun,” Scarlett said.
Scarlett said the other part of the inspiration came from the centre’s teachers.
“My teachers, Ms Deborah Preece-Brocksom and Mr Richard Leader have inspired me to dance with their teaching and dance career stories,” she said.
“They have been there supporting and encouraging me from the day I began to learn. I think they are wonderful.”
