Police injured in Cooroy hit and run

A police officer has been injured in Cooroy today (Monday 2 January) after being struck by two vehicles.

A police officer has been hit by two cars after disturbing an alleged break and enter on Maple Street in Cooroy.
Police are currently investigating and said shortly after 4am on Monday (2 January) police attended a business in Maple Street following reports of suspicious behaviour.
Initial investigations indicate that upon arrival police disturbed several offenders committing a break and enter at an address. As a result a male police officer was struck by two vehicles being driven by the offenders as they fled the address.
The officer was transported to Nambour Hospital with an injury to his leg not considered life-threatening and remains in a stable condition. Investigations are continuing but anyone with information can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
