The Cooper-Finlay Cup has been played between Over 60s cricketers from New South Wales and Queensland since 2007.

Kevin Finlay NSW and Lew Cooper Qld initiated the first interstate challenge which featured one over 60s match at Tenderfield in 2008. Since then the Cup Challenge has grown to its current format, which features a 5 Team Challenge, now an Over 70s team. The Challenge is held over two days. Cooroibah’s Phil Drescher and local real estate agent Ron Davey played for Queensland Country 1 against NSW Country with Qld winning the first match 177 to NSW 176. The following day they played NSW City 1 with Qld winning that match as well, 166 to 129. Phil was voted Best Player for both games for Qld country 1.
