’80s legends rock Eumundi

By Hollie Harris

Put Saturday 12 May in your diary for what is sure to be a helluva fun night when the star-studded ‘Absolutely 80s Band’ bring their chart-toppers to The Brewery at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi.

Get your crew together and make a group booking, as all bookings of 6 or more will go in the draw to WIN a pre-gig dinner and drinks package to the value of $250.

The Absolutely 80s Band features Oz music stars: Uncanny X Men’s Brian Mannix, Kids in the Kitchen’s Scott Carne and The Models’ Sean Kelly – playing all their big hits including ‘I Hear Motion’, ‘Everybody Wants to Work’, ‘50 Years’, ‘Out of Mind’ and loads more.

Without doubt, the 80s was one of the most memorable and massive decades of music. Coming straight out of the ‘Countdown Era’, these pop idols will bring their rockstar A-game to this big show! Big songs, big moves, big fun! Way before Derek Zoolander became the world’s most famous male model, these really really ridiculously good looking – and talented – boys were prancing, dancing, pouting and throwing ‘blue steel’ before it was even a thing.

This is a high octane two-hour show that pushes the limits of fun, excitement and energy, with big 80s hits, sung by the guys that sang ‘em back then. On your radio and on Countdown. This is who Molly was, um, talking about when he said: “Do yourself a favour, go buy their records”. They’re the real deal. Sure, they’ve been around but that’s what makes ‘em so damn good!

Get ready to rock out! It’s time to get loud, sweaty and dance your butt off as the hottest 80s show in the country, the Absolutely 80s ‘Blue Steel Tour’ blows you away!

TICKETS: Pre-sale $25 (+ booking fee) through Oztix or direct from the Imperial Hotel (Ph: 5442 8811). $30 at the door

Doors open 8pm and don’t forget to book The Imperial Hotel’s FREE courtesy bus. IT operates Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm + Sundays from 2pm travelling to Eumundi, Belli Park, Cooroy, Doonan, Eerwah Vale, North Arm, and Verrierdale. Phone Gary on 0467 414 171 to book.
