Cuddle up to a new family member

TO CELEBRATE World Cat Day on Monday 8 August Petbarn Noosa in partnership with RSPCA Queensland is offering cat adoptions in-store where locals will have the opportunity to meet a number of cute and cuddly felines that are looking for new homes.
Store manager Matt Weier said that World Cat Day was a fantastic way of celebrating the love and companionship that furry friends provide and is the perfect opportunity to raise awareness of the number of cats that are without a home.
“At Petbarn Noosa we’re dedicated to ensuring every animal has a loving place to call home and World Cat Day is the perfect time for us to raise awareness of the importance of pet adoption in saving cat lives.
“Renowned for their companionship, playful nature and self-sufficiency, cats are one of Australia’s most popular pets and can bring much joy and love.
“Easy to care for and able to be left alone in the house by themselves for several hours, cats can teach compassion while being a very independent member of the family.
“We offer cat adoptions all year around through our Pet Adoption Centre, however we would like to take World Cat Day, and the weekend leading up to it, as a special opportunity for us to celebrate our feline friends,” said Matt.
Visitors who find their purrfect pairing will be able to go through the pet adoption process in-store on the day.
While the adoption fee set by the local charity is collected by Petbarn, 100 per cent of this fee is returned to the charity. All cats are de-sexed, vaccinated and micro-chipped before being brought into store.
In partnership with a number of local animal charities, including RSPCA, Pets Haven and Cat Haven, over 16,091 animals across Australia have been saved from being euthanised after being adopted since the program launched.
To find out more or to adopt a pet contact Petbarn Noosa, Noosa Civic Centre, 28 Eenie Creek Road.
