Ballet talents on show

THIRTEEN talented ballet dancers will be providing a free showcase of their talents at the Richard Gowty Centre at St Andrew College, Peregian Springs, on Sunday 6 September from 4pm.
St Andrews has generously provided the venue, so aged care residents can come and watch the performance along with the public.
It is difficult for aged care residents to access many arts events, particularly ballet, so this annual event is eagerly anticipated.
The ballet dancers are all students of The Dance Centre Peregian Springs’ vocational program.
The program is in its seventh year, catering for dedicated girls and boys who want to become professional dancers and boasts 12 junior excellence students and another 13 vocational students, of which six are currently in the Australian Ballet School’s Interstate Programme.
The students train for up to 19 hours per week at The Dance Centre and look forward to demonstrating the results of their hard work to parents, students, friends and the public.
The audience will be treated to performances from some of the best young ballet dancers in Queensland.
