Smooth sounds jazz up club picnic

THE Jazz Club members’ picnic is back again, with an afternoon full of live music and fun on 12 October.
Proudly presented by the Noosa Jazz Club, the picnic began as a way to thank members for their loyalty and participation throughout the year. Now, the picnic is a community event for anyone who loves listening to live jazz music, while relaxing in the sun.
There is a great line-up this year, including Brisbane trumpet player, Peter Uppman, who is back from a number of years playing with top Melbourne bands.
Peter will join Jo Bloomfield, Mike Hawthorne, Derek Capewell, and Peter McCormick.
Jazz Factory stalwarts Ian Denovan, Paul Williams, Greg Garrett and Richard Stevens will also treat the audience to their smooth jazz sound.
Bring along some snacks, a chair and hat. There will be a budget bar, so BYO is not permitted.
Noosa Jazz Club member tickets are free, non-member tickets are $15 per person. You can get your ticket at the gate or phone Patsy on 5447 2229.
The Jazz Club picnic will be held at the Tewantin Tree Farm, Jirrima Crescent, Tewantin, on 12 October, from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.
