TEWANTIN Noosa Golf Club’s rising star Timmy Butterworth, 22, won his first professional tournament at Carbrook, Loganholme, recently with nine birdies.
Timmy is a second year trainee at the Tewantin Noosa Golf Club and this was his first professional win.
The youngster also smashed the previous course record of six under par.
Speaking with Noosa Today, Timmy said he was pleased with the result and hopes to continue producing wins into the future.
“Throughout the day I made nine birdies and everything just fell into place for me,” he said.
“The putter was running hot that day.”
The prize pool for the event was $7500 for winning the tournament.
Timmy has been playing for about 11 years and has developed a passion for golf, which he hopes to convert into a successful golfing career.
“I’m hoping to keep on improving my golf game with the view to making a living out of it,” he said.
His next tournament is the Australian Trainee Championships in Ballarat in late October.
Timmy works full-time at Tewantin Noosa Golf Club which has supported his ambition through support, mentorship and training.
