Catch the wave

By JONATHON HOWARD

THE 12th AMAYSIM Australian Surf Movie Festival presented by GoPro will screen for one night only at BCC Noosa Cinemas tonight (4 December).
The Australian Surf Movie Festival (ASMF) is the 12th annual national tour showcasing Tim Bonython’s latest surfing films plus the winner of the short surfing competition and loads of lucky door prizes.
The ASMF includes stories shot this year of the Right in Western Australia, Cape Solander in Sydney, a secret spot off the south coast of NSW Bombora, Shipsterms in Tasmania and Pedra Branca – a reef 27 kilometres out to sea.
Surf reporter Teza McKenna described the latest Bonython film as an experience that anyone who loves the ocean needs to see firsthand.
“Tim Bonython and his ASMF concept has single-handedly re-invented the stoke of an old-school cinema-style atmosphere with new-school cutting edge, high performance and big wave surfing,” Teza said.
The film will run for a total two hours including an intermission.
Booking is available online at discounted rates by visiting: www.ASMF.net.au – or tickets are available at the cinema on the night subject to availability.
Doors open at 5.30pm.
