NINE-YEAR-OLD Atticus Richter swapped his Dolphins jersey for a Kiwi bird as he headed to the land of the long white cloud for a chance to play with the best.
The Noosa Dolphin’s rugby player headed to Remuera, New Zealand, over the Anzac Day weekend to attend the College Rifles Junior Rugby Union Camp.
During the week long camp, Atticus ran and tackled and stepped and scored and was immediately noticed and mentioned by the lead coaches.
At the closing of the week and the competition, Atticus and his NZ team-mates managed to secure the competition trophy and individual recognition for the spirit and skill demonstrated.
Atticus returned home last Friday (29 April) to an eagerly waiting cheer squad and proud mother as she saw him adorned with his various awards.
