Club aims to jazz it up

THE free, family-friendly Jazz concert is back in Webb Park thanks to the Noosa Heads Jazz Club.
The community concert is part of the Noosa Jazz Festival, which runs from 4 September to 7 September throughout the Noosa region, and is the perfect way to celebrate the annual event.
Noosa Jazz Club president Richard Stevens said the free concerts used to be included in the line-up every year, except for last year.
“When the late Frank Johnson and I started the Noosa Jazz Party in 1992 the Free Jazz Concert in the park was an integral part of the weekend,” he said.
“With the return of the concert, we are responding to local and visitors’ desire to restore this tradition.”
The concert will feature trumpet player Bob Barnard along with Geoff Bull, Peter Gaudion, Shuffle Club and other internationally acclaimed musicians.
The Family Jazz Concert will be held in Webb Park, Sunshine Beach, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Other free, family-friendly events in Sunshine Beach include live music in the Sunshine Beach village tomorrow at 10.30am and then an afternoon session at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club.
In all, over the four-day event, the Noosa Jazz festival presents over 40 hours of world-class jazz throughout Noosa.
