THE Noosa National Park has been voted as one of the top five experiences in Queensland in the recently released seventh edition of Lonely Planet’s Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef guide.
The guide opens with a list of the state’s top 15 highlights and the Noosa National Park is listed in the top five.CEO of Tourism Noosa, Damien Massingham said the acknowledgment was a great win for one of Australia’s most popular national parks and reinforces Noosa’s position as a leading nature-based holiday destination.
“The Noosa National Park offers one of the most beautiful coastal scenic walks, along with a vast network of forest tracks which provide a natural habitat for some of Australia’s most treasured flora and fauna.
“Within walking distance of the renowned Hastings Street, the park is an accessible and distinctive part of Noosa’s rich conservation and surfing heritage. The famous point breaks in the park are a key reason Noosa was also recently named Australia’s newest National Surfing Reserve”.
“Also in the top 15 list are nearby World Heritage listed Fraser Island and Lady Elliott Island, as well as whale watching from Hervey Bay, all of which can be explored from Noosa” Mr Massingham said.
