Spring four-person table tennis challenge, round 2
Barracudas (R. Wheller, J. Brown, J. Campbell, S. Lidden ) d Piranhas (A. Munro, M. Clarke, S. Campbell, J. Mikkelson ) 9/6. Jordan once again left a trail of victims, at times doing it with ease.
Raptors (K. McDonald, C. Barry, C. Galea, M. Duncan) d Mantis (B. Brown, O. Estraviz, L. Gore, W. Byrne ) 10/5. We witnessed a classic duel between the club’s heavyweights, Bill and Kye, with Bill only scraping in 15/13 in the fifth set. Also with Craig’s return to form the Raptors look a certainty to be grand final contenders.
Gators (R. Gore, J. Murphy, B. Muller, R. Yao ) d Marlins (S. Ciercan, S. Gardner, P. Clive, R. Byrne ) 8/7. Three five set losses in a row robbed the Marlins of a win here and a somewhat surprised Gators gratefully accepted a much needed boost.
Competition night is Wednesday from 7pm, and we also have a practise session on Monday nights from 7.15pm. Social groups meet three afternoons a week. All sessions are held at the Bicentennial Centre, Sunshine Beach.
