NOOSA mothers continue to voice their support for a birthing centre to be built at Noosa Hospital, in the face of fears the future of local public health services is in jeopardy.
This week Noosa midwife Sylvia Jenkin reveals her concerns once Nambour’s birthing centre is shut down from 2016, diverting birthing services to Kawana.
Noosa mum Sarah Nolan has also slammed Nambour’s after care service when she had her son 13 months ago.
“I have an older son and it was difficult with the travel to Nambour. This time, with Oliver, I have to say I did not like the service at Nambour. The birthing care was fine, but the after care service was terrible – I’d support a birthing centre in Noosa,” Sarah Nolan with Oliver (13 months) of Noosa.
“I’m a midwife in the region and I have to say Nambour Hospital’s birthing centre is rundown and needs attention. Noosa Hospital needs this birthing centre, especially when the Nambour birthing centre is shut down in 2016,” Noosa midwife Sylvia Jenkin.
