Five centuries of music

Husband and wife duo Suzanna Hlinka and Christoph Blickling will perform in Cooran on 16 November.

MUSICAL duo Suzanna Hlinka and Christoph Blickling are on their way to Noosa to perform works for piano and cello spanning five centuries.
The husband and wife pair, who are based in Germany, will cover music from the early baroque era to contemporary Australian works in their Hausmusik concert at Cooran School of Arts Hall on 16 November.
Music lovers will have an opportunity to hear why pianist Suzanna and cellist Christoph are receiving rave reviews in Europe for their passionate performances.
Suzanna and Christoph met as first year students at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music a decade ago, and while both enjoy busy solo careers, the interplay of two prodigious talents who know each other intimately lends a special magic to their duo performances.
Discussing the secret of their marital and musical partnership, Christoph said it’s all about compromise.
“Two strong personalities, two different sets of ideals – at the end of the day though, you have to reach a compromise,” he said.
The Hausmusik concert will be held at the Cooran School of Arts Hall, King Street, Cooran, on 16 November, from 3pm.
Tickets are available now from $10 per person. Book through www.thej.com.au or phone 5448 1449.
