Students imbibed with true spirit of season

Every year as the school finishes and summer holidays are on the horizon, St Teresa’s Catholic College students collect hampers of goodies to share the Christmas joy.
Each Pastoral Care group determines the make-up of a family they will provide for, and bring in items so each member of the family receives a Christmas treat.
A great deal of care and thought goes into each basket with the students ensuring each member of a family receives a gift.
Once the hampers are made, they are delivered to St Vincent de Paul in Noosaville who distribute the goods to families in need. This is one way at this time of year our students continue to walk in the footsteps of St Teresa of Avila and Marcellin Champagnat by reaching out to the poor and the marginalised.
School spokeswoman Margi Cruice said at Christmas, students might be tempted to focus on what they would receive, but our students developed a broader perspective of thinking of others and contributing to our local community.
