QUEENSLAND Parks and Wildlife are preparing for a sweltering summer season by reducing fuel loads across Noosa this week.
Burns have been scheduled for the Headland, East Weyba, West Weyba, Emu Swamp and Emu Mountain sections of Noosa National Park, until September 2014, as part of the annual hazard reduction/conservation management program for parks and forests.
These burns are being undertaken to help protect life and property in the event of a wildfire.
As a result, smoke may be seen in areas surrounding these sections of park.
Persons with respiratory or other health problems should seek medical advice on mitigating the effects of smoke inhalation.
Strict instructions have been given not to enter the park at the time of the burn and for a period immediately following the burn.
The community has been asked to obey closure signs in and around the national park.
