Decade-long decorating the big day

FROM humble beginnings on the dining room table, a local business is set to celebrate 10 years in the industry.
Locally owned and operated, Splash Events began organising, designing and decorating wedding events from a dining room table in 2006 and has expanded to occupy two warehouses and employing 11 staff members.
Founding CEO Nicole Hopkins said she first fell in love with decorating events when she planned her own wedding in 1995.
“I was involved in decorating my first wedding while I was still working in Grace Bros,” Ms Hopkins said.
“I was lucky enough to assist in the decorating of James Packer and Jodie Mears wedding, which was so exciting and led to my love of the fast-paced world of events.
“I’ve been decorating weddings and events off and on since then, but once we moved to The Sunshine Coast, the dream became a reality and Splash Events was born.”
Now 10 years on, Splash Events has one of the largest showrooms on the Sunshine Coast with an extensive range of furniture, styling elements and decor as well as specialising in a wide range of events such as trade shows, launch parties, formal lunches and, of course, weddings.
