Big win for little Dolphins

By Lucy Whitehill

NOOSA DOLPHINS
UNDER 6
Noosa Dolphins 30 def Matthew Flinders 20
With an early and chilly start in Maroochydore, the boys showed a lot more enthusiasm and energy than the spectators. Once the team established which direction was forward – with a lot of patient support and direction from the coaches – they really hit their stride. All the work done at training became apparent as passing skills showed some real improvement this week. Lincoln and Matthew were unstoppable once they started running, and scored some of the team’s tries, along with Chayse, Owen and Luke. Player of the match went to Henry and Owen.
UNDER 7
Noosa Dolphins v Saints, Grammer and Caloundra
The U7 crew were on on fire this weekend especially with their passing skills it was like hot potato, the perseverance of the coaching staff is certainly showing up in these boys games. Cash is developing his passing skills which earnt him player of the day this week, Cuan was eager and chased hard for the tags along with Rorke the smallest of the team putting on some big hits thinking he was playing A – Grade. Dominoes Players of the Day were Cash Lovelock and Rorke Richardson.
UNDER 9
Noosa Reds 90 def Saints 15
An early turnover set the tone of the match as the Reds ran in several early tries. Alfie lead from the front by protecting possession at every ruck and thereby allowing the backs clean ball to run at will.
Defence will be a focus at training this week as three soft tries were allowed over the Reds’ line. Counter rucking was a strong point this week and the team held a lot of ball possession as a result. As we approach the halfway mark in the season it is evident that the boys are learning the value of every player doing their role and learning to trust each other’s different abilities and specialties. Player of the match went to Alfie.
