Runners from St Andrew’s College, Peregian Springs beat almost 100 teams to win the 48km Kokoda Challenge and claim the title for the second year in a row.
College director of sport Steve Robson said 174 runners entered the challenge with of 15km, 30km and 48km as part of the amazing Kokoda Challenge, with a special mention to Mr Austin, Will, Max, Harry and Luca (Year 8) who won the 48km event in seven hours ahead of 98 teams.
“This is the ninth year we have competed as a College and it never disappoints,” he said.
“It is tough, it is a challenge, it tests you mentally and physically – but it gives you so much. The brilliant Kokoda Challenge is full of the unexpected, unplanned and unprepared for. You can’t control some things but you can control your responses to these things.”
“Importantly thousands of dollars are raised for charity to support young people.”
