School musical sets the streets a-rockin’

EUMUNDI will come to life on Friday night when the Eumundi School of Rock concert blares through the streets from the School of Arts Hall.
Three School of Rock bands will be joined by Katie Noonan, Jack Carty and the School of Rock teachers The Band of Frequencies to perform on Friday 9 December, from 6pm to 10pm.
Songs to be performed will include favourites such as Weir by Killing Heidi, My Happiness by Powderfinger, AC/DC’s Highway to Hell and Good Times by the Easy Beats.
The project has been possible through the support of volunteers, local schools, businesses and professional organisations including Eumundi Combined Community Organisation Ltd (ECCO), Experience Eumundi and the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance.
ECCO chairman Anthony Wynn-Hoelscher said Eumundi and surrounds had a strong artisan and cultural legacy, however in recent years, the area suffered a brain drain of musicians relocating to regions due to better opportunities.
The School of Rock performance will take place on Friday, from 6pm to 10pm at the Eumundi School of Arts Hall, 63 Memorial Drive, Eumundi.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go back into the program so it can still be free for the community in 2017.
Tickets can be booked at eumundisor.eventbrite.com.au or through the Eumundi School of Rock Facebook page.
