Sky’s the limit for school achievers

NOOSA District State High School students are flying high after scoring three of the 11 awards on offer at the Aerospace Education Awards.
The Noosa school is among 18 Queensland schools taking part in the Aerospace Gateway STEM program.
The Aerospace Education Awards recognised the efforts and achievements of students and teachers from all 18 Aerospace Gateway Schools, with the presentation ceremony held at Parliament House earlier this month.
Sixty nominations were received this year and the selection of a winner in each category was very challenging, with the high standard of applications received and the clear demonstrations of passion for the aviation industry.
Over 170 students, parents, teachers and industry representatives were in attendance at the ceremony last Thursday.
Year 10 student Jamison Kehl won the GE Aviation Aerospace Award as well as the Flightscope Aviation Pilot Scholarship and Year 11 student Mitchell Thomas won the Raytheon Award.
School principal Chris Roff said he was very proud of the success of the aviation students and the efforts of his staff.
“This truly is a program of excellence at our school, and will grow in strength,” Mr Roff said.
