The best of mother nature

IT’S time to celebrate mother earth with a three-course Slow Food lunch and farm tour on international Terra Madre day.
Slow Food Noosa guests will have the opportunity to savour, celebrate and explore Melsted Park before enjoying a locally-grown feast from chef and farmer Jodie Williams from Mayan Farm and Black Ant Gourmet at Kin Kin.
Along with apprentice chef Sally Higgs, Jodie will cook up a feast featuring local produce and providing a unique opportunity to savour local flavours among the rolling hills of Black Mountain.
Anna and Michael Henbury own and operate Melsted Park and contribute to the local food chain with chemical-free pastured products, including chickens, eggs and beef – which show their relationship with Landcare and other environmental agencies to rejuvenate and replenish the land and their belief in healthy soil, healthy animals, healthy humans.
Everyone is welcome to join Slow Food Noosa to celebrate this sustainable success story, explore a true hinterland farm and enjoy a great day out for people of all ages.
The Terra Madre celebration will take place on Sunday 11 December, from noon to 4pm, at Melsted Park, 317 Lawnville Road, Black Mountain.
Tickets are $55 for Slow Food Noosa members, $65 for non-members and include a three-course lunch. Diners can BYO their drinks and glasses.
Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning Diana on 0408 377 660, Robyn on 0401 103 400 or emailing info@slowfoodnoosa.com
