Festival favourites, The Hillbilly Goats are bringing their mountain music and harmonies to The Imperial Hotel in Eumundi on Friday 8 December.
Trad folk on steroids with a splash of colour and a dash of difference – these Goats have forged their own path.
Their recordings paint a picture of traditional songs from 1710 through to the 1940s with a high-energy quirky edge.
Featuring banjo, bones, double bass, fiddle, tap dancing, three-part harmonies and more, The Hillbilly Goats transform you on a journey of the history of mountain music’s evolution into blues, country and bluegrass.
These guys aren’t just a band – they’re a show featuring stories and song combined with tap dancing, bones, big harmonies and regular instrument changes.
Their third studio album, ‘Down Foggy Mountain’, recorded and produced by Nash Chambers, was released worldwide last year and is fast gaining accolades with their single Rabbit in a Log nominated for Bluegrass Song of the year at the CMAA Awards.
This album further stamps the musical twist on traditional songs The Hillbilly Goats are famous for, with big harmonies and a heavy presence of hard fiddle and fast harmonica. This album consolidates the music and the flair of one of the best Aussie bands you will ever come across. This is a celebration of life and music that will draw you in just as it did to thousands of fans at the recent Tamworth Festival.
