Eighteen Noosa ladies strapped on their skates, fastened their knee pads and hit the courts at Noosa Leisure Centre on Sunday 5 February for their first roller skating day.
Event organiser Tanya Stevens put the call-out for fellow skaters on Facebook and was surprised by the overwhelming response of other women looking to skate and connect.
Tanya held the first skate day at the NLC on Sunday and said it was a fantastic morning.
“We had a great time. There were lots of lovely supportive ladies with lots of giggles and great music,” she said.
The skaters will break for a week due to a pre-existing booking on the courts, but skating will resume on Sunday 19 February from 10am to noon. Cost to skate is $11 per person and skaters must be over 18.
