NOOSA Today talks all things music and politics with larger than life Rose Tattoo front man Angry Anderson.
Angry is set to lead an all-star cast to Noosa when the Blood, Sweat and Beers tour lands on Noosa’s shores this weekend.
The show consists of more than three hours with former members of AC/DC, The Angels, Rose Tattoo and Screaming Jets performing all their favourites including classic AC/DC songs, a set of The Angels favourites and Screaming Jets hits and, to bring it home, a blistering set of Ross Tattoo classics fronted by the great man himself, Angry Anderson.
The unmistakeable Rose Tattoo front man has slayed audiences and bled on stages across the globe for more than 40 years.
When asked how the tour came about Angry said it was a mutual desire to rock the stage that brought the members together.
“I sing hard rock on the weekends to keep my peace of mind,” Angry said.
“I can’t sing with Rose Tattoo as our band is in limbo at the moment and some of the guys were also singing their songs with other bands so we thought it would be best if we got together and performed our songs.”
The tour took its name from a recently released book by Australia’s rock writer Murray Engleheart which takes readers on a balls and all tour through the bar-brawling, riot-inducing and occasionally gun-toting Oz rock culture.
Rose Tattoo feature in the book which tells of its journey to becoming the loudest, most threatening band to ever stalk the earth.
But there is a softer side to Angry who has recently announced his third attempt at politics as the second senate candidate in NSW for the Australian Liberty Alliance last month.
“I want to be part of the solution, not the problem,” Angry said.
“This party feels right for me. It’s a conservative party and all their policies are about being a sovereign country.”
Angry has a long list of accomplishments with youth advocate, reporter, actor and politician on the list but Angry said his biggest passion is music.
“Performing gives me great joy. When I perform live I’m in love with the moment and the audience becomes part of that journey,” he said.
“Blood, Sweat and Beers is about great musicians stepping back into a time that is still talked about, that inspires musicians today.
“The songs we perform will live forever and the show will be high octane and adrenaline pumping.”
