THE names Kevin Borich and Phil Emmanuel are synonymous with guitar genius and good times and they’re on their way to the Tewantin-Noosa RSL.
They are two of the best-known Australian rockers and between them they’ve played everywhere from smoke-filled pubs to festivals in front of 50,000 fans.
It would be easy to spend a day arguing who is the best but really there isn’t any need because they are performing together at the RSL on Friday 10 July.
Kevin Borich is well-known for his high-energy electric guitar style and his performance is hailed throughout the music industry as world class.
Rock and blues audiences love and revere Borich and he is one of the few artists who successfully straddles the two genres.
He has received abundant accolades including Best Guitarist at the Australian Rock Music Awards, Concert of the Year Award, the Australian Blues Music Festival Heritage Award and the Australian Blues Foundation Hall of Fame.
By the age of nine, Phil Emmanuel was already working as a professional musician. Phil’s musical roots stem back to the ’50s, 60s and ’70s and his style has largely been defined by the classic guitar sounds of this era.
His preference is for the “instrumental tunes that defined the sound of the electric guitar when it was a new instrument”.
His accolades include the Country Music Hall of Fame, Hands of Fame and Musician of the Year awards.
This is set to be a night of wicked guitar skills from two of Australia’s most renowned singer-songwriters.
Kevin Borich and Phil Emmanuel are appearing at the Tewantin-Noosa RSL on Friday 10 July at 8pm.
Tickets are available from reception or Dial ’N’ Charge on 5447 1766 and are free for members or $10 for non-members.
