Hit and run hunt

Police are looking for the driver of a white Toyota ute similar to the one pictured, with an Eagles sticker on the back.

LOCAL police are calling for the community’s help to find the person who knocked an elderly couple off their bike of Boxing Day.
Graeme Osbourne, 75, and his wife Jann were on their way home from the Sunshine Beach Surf Club on 26 December when a white ute hit the motorbike they were riding at the intersection of Ross Crescent and Hill Street, Sunshine Beach.
Noosa Heads officer in charge Senior Sergeant Steve McReight said witnesses saw the Toyota ute slow down before driving off.
Mr Osbourne was knocked unconscious and taken to hospital with bleeding on the brain while Mrs Osbourne suffered wrist injuries and a broken finger.
Local police are urging the driver of the ute to do the right thing and hand themselves in to police.
“How would they feel if it was their grandparents left on the side of the road?” he said.
The ute is a white old-style Toyota with an Eagles sticker on the back. Police said there might be red paint from the motorbike on the car.
