Sunshine stars at district swim

Congratulations to students from Sunshine Beach State School which was named Champion school at recent Noosa District 10-12 years school carnival. The victory was a result of a terrific effort with all 23 Sunshine Beach swimmers giving 100 per cent effort in the competition involving 13 local schools.
Highlights among the awards went to Dylan for age champion and Zara for top 10 in three events.
Sunshine Beach State School PE teacher Cam Porter said swimming carnivals were a great way to witness a student’s physical and mental motivation and to encourage children to identify a challenge and try their best to achieve.
“The swim carnivals allowed many students who have spent many very early mornings involved in local swim squads to showcase their talents and also provided an avenue for all children to take part in a challenging activity,” he said.
“This event is also an avenue for further representative honours and we are proud to have Poppy, Georgia Darcy Oscar and Dylan qualify for the regional championships.”
