Backswing to battle cancer

Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men with more than 3000 men dying from the disease every year in Australia.
September is the national month of prostate cancer awareness and Noosa Community Charity (NCC) is encouraging locals to get along to Noosa Springs to help support men who suffer from the disease.
The Noosa Springs golf day will be held on Friday 4 September and will raise funds for cancer research and to help support men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer.
As a volunteer-based charity group, all funds raised at the Friday 4 September event will go directly to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
The charity day will start at 7.30am with an egg and bacon burger breakfast and briefing followed a shotgun start at 8.30am with teams of four playing 18 holes.
A buffet lunch in the club house at 2pm will complete the day along with a presentation to the winners.
The NCC is encouraging everyone to come along on the day or register a team and “celebrate the men in your life”, while perfecting their backswing.
A team of four is $440 which includes green fees, cart, breakfast and lunch.
Entries are open now.
To register or for more information phone Deanne on 5440 9722.
