Council will close part of the Main Beach boardwalk and establish a detour for several days in July so contractors can replace the Main Beach lifeguard tower’s rusty roof.
Noosa Council facility officer Ian Pearce said contractors planned to start work on the lifeguard tower, near the surf club, on Monday 18 July.
“Weather permitting the work will be completed within three days,” he said.
Council will establish a detour around the tower, through the surf club car park.
“The boardwalk will be closed off with temporary fencing and barriers while the work is underway,” Mr Pearce said.
“Over the years the salt spray from the ocean has corroded the roof sheets so they’re in need of replacing.
