Dolphins show how it’s done

U6: NOT even the wind and rain at our home ground could stop our under-6s this week. Our energetic boys smashed it with two games, first against Grammar and the second against newcomers Maleny. Players of the day went to Alfie and Cash, showing great sportsmanship and support for their team-mates.
U8: The under-8 Noosa Fins defeated Grammar 35-25 thanks to great tackling, running and passing on both teams. Wilkie ‘Wilko’ Anderson really did show some sparkle on several occasions with a couple of committed runs, this young fellow has the main ingredient – determination – with his game developing nicely.
U8: The under-8 Noosa Reds defeated Grammar Green 55-10. The Reds muscled up on defence in the first quarter with minimal possession as the Grammar pack had several attempts at the Reds’ try line. An improved effort at ruck time saw the Reds pile on try after try in the second half as better ball presentation paid dividends for the backs. Players of the match went to Ritchie and Thomas.
U9: The Noosa Fins were defeated by Sunshine Coast Grammar 6-8, in what was a thrilling match that produced a fantastic effort from all the Fins. Justin, Daniel and Tom L. tackled their hearts out, while Ronan stepped up with some brilliant runs and Mali spun off tackles like a pinball. Player of the match went to Finnbar.
U10: The Noosa Blacks defeated St Andrew’s 36-5. The blacks gave it their all and played 200 per cent with a mighty consistent game, everyone contributing using their strength and skills. Newly appointed forward Finn gave his full commitment through the entire match grabbing and stealing the ball, earning him a well-deserved man of the match award.
U10: The under-10 Noosa Reds were defeated by the Brothers Rhino’s 54-nil. The score line is probably not a fair indication given the effort from some of our players, in particular Dylan, Pearl, Hunter, Toby and Johnno. Player of the match went to Dylan Wilson.
U11: The Noosa Fins defeated the Brothers Rhino’s 40-nil in what was a difficult game, with Fins players injured and others on representative duty. With the forwards under pressure for most of the game it was the backs who stepped up. When Reggie and Andrew weren’t ripping through the defence with bustling runs, the ball sung through the backs’ hands in sweeping backline movements. A great win showing how adaptable this good Fins team is.
U11: The under-11 Noosa Reds defeated Flinders 17-0 in a game that saw the Reds bounce back to form. The Reds came out of the blocks full of fire. The Reds rolled it straight down the middle with some great continuity delivering the first two tries. Flinders fought back in the second half but the Reds weren’t going to let this one go.
