Rape investigation

AN 18-year-old woman has allegedly been raped when walking home from a party in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to police, the woman was walking on a secluded walkway that adjoins David Low Way and Bicentennial Way in Sunrise Beach at about 2am on Sunday 8 January, when she was grabbed from behind by a man and sexually assaulted.
A local man who was passing by heard the disturbance and went to the woman’s aid. The woman was taken to Nambour Hospital following the attack.
The offender fled the scene on foot but was described as 180cm tall with a European accent, possibly French, and wearing long dark pants and a red T-shirt.
Noosa police are investigating and urge anyone who was in the area around the time of the assault and who may have heard or witnessed any suspicious activity to come forward.
Anyone with information should phone Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 or phone the Noosa police station on 5440 8111.
