Sizzling performances in the pool

By ALASDAIR SCOTT

EUMUNDI Swim Club’s annual day out to the Cooloola Crocs carnival at Tin Can Bay last weekend was a resounding success for swimmers and parents.
Rain showers did nothing to dampen spirits – in fact they provided a cool reprieve as the swimmers delivered hot performances in the pool.
Jaea, Isabella and Emma were among the youngest competitors and set a great standard with their effort and enjoyment.
Not to be outdone, club president George Brook helped out the ‘A’ relay team and brought home the top spot.
The award for the most tenacious swim has to go to Ally Broderick who swam virtually the entire 100 Individual Medley with her goggles clenched between her teeth and received a great ovation for her effort.
Dash for Cash events started the day, but somehow the 24 Eumundi swimmers saved some energy for a mammoth series of terrific team performances in the relays.
Go Eumundi, we may need two buses next year.
